Furnish-A-Future is New York City’s only free furniture bank. Since 1992, FaF has helped more than 20,000 formerly homeless families turn bare rooms into comfortable, functional homes. The Furniture Distribution Program, delivers free, used furniture and other household items to families newly relocated from the shelter system, Victims of Domestic Violence transferred via NYCHA's Emergency Transfer program, and families impacted by disasters. The program receives donations from hotels, motels, organizations and private citizens. For further information on NYCHA's Furniture Program or to donate furniture please call 212-306-3472.
J-CAP, Inc. provides residential and ambulatory treatment for chemical dependencies inQueens, New York since 1968. J-CAP, seeks bedroom furniture (dressers, bunk-beds,vanities, etc.) to replace dormitories at their 80-bed St. Albans facilities. J-CAP is also very much in need of 15,000 BTU A/C’s for their inpatient residence in St. Albans. Any workable condition is fine, so long as the are window-typeand run on 110V. Depending on the amount of goods, transportation may be provided for all appropriate donations as well as letters of tax-exemptstatus for donors records. For more information call 718-712-1100.
