How and where do donate your unused items in NYC
We at Divine Moving are asked this question all the time, What can I do with unwanted items?
Well we found a list of places that would be very interested in getting them.
Baby and Children’s Items:
Baby Buggy accepts in-kind donations of new or gently used baby clothes, gear or products. Donations are distributed to nonprofit community partners serving low-income and homeless families and distributing these goods to their babies and infants. Children’s Hope Foundation is a volunteer driven organization that improves the quality of life for children, youth and their families affected by HIV and AIDS by meeting their medical and social needs. Children’s Hope accepts donations of clothing and toys for children of all ages, from birth to teens. For further information call (212) 233-5133
The Family Justice Center (FJC) serves as an information clearinghouse for victims of domestic violence. Located in Brooklyn, FJC provides a safe environment for victims to receive services, such as counseling, advocacy, legal and housing help. Non-perishable food items, baby products, maternity clothes and toiletries are always in need. For more information on how to make a donation to FJC, please contact Sandra Lyman at 718-250-5083
Inwood House is a nationally recognized leader and innovator in teen pregnancy prevention, youth development and family support. Inwood House generally accepts baby clothes, furniture, maternity clothes and furnishings in excellent or brand new condition. For further information, call 212-861-4400, extension 270
