NYC pre-move donations
Housing Works, Inc. is an advocacy program for homeless or at-risk-people with AIDS/HIV. Housing Works accepts donations of items which you no longer need but are still in saleable condition, these include but are not limited to clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, art and furniture. Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter (NCS) is committed to ending homelessness by providing men and women with housing and support that can transform their lives. NCS accepts in-kind donations of dignity items (socks, underwear, soap, toothbrushes, etc.) to distribute to homeless clients at their drop-in center. Tickets to sports, movies and cultural events, and gift certificates for local shops are also accepted. St. John the Divine Cathedral - Community Cares provides an array of support services to those in need. These include a Crisis Center, emergency food and a soup kitchen, a shelter for men, professional and emergency clothing, emergency pantry, advocacy, training and intervention. Donations of beds, bedding and linens, clothes, equipment, and household goods are all welcome. For further information call (212) 316-7581.
