Housing Works, Inc. is an advocacy program for homeless or at-risk-people with AIDS/HIV. Housing Works accepts donations of items which you no longer need but are still in saleable condition, these include but are not limited to clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, art and furniture. Neighborhood Coalition for Shelter (NCS) is committed to ending homelessness by providing men and women with housing and support that can transform their lives. NCS accepts in-kind donations of dignity items (socks, underwear, soap, toothbrushes, etc.) to distribute to homeless clients at their drop-in center. Tickets to sports, movies and cultural events, and gift certificates for local shops are also accepted. St. John the Divine Cathedral - Community Cares provides an array of support services to those in need. These include a Crisis Center, emergency food and a soup kitchen, a shelter for men, professional and emergency clothing, emergency pantry, advocacy, training and intervention. Books, musical instruments, computers, furniture, science equipment, and art supplies are among the resources frequently in demand.

Build it Green! NYC

Build it Green!NYC New York City’s only non-profit retail outlet for salvaged and surplus building materials; it is co-sponsored the Community Environmental Center (CEC). All proceeds go to fund environmental education at Solar One.

Habitat for Humanity, NYC builds and rehabilitates simple, decent homes with the help of the future homeowners through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money and materials.

NYC Rescue Mission is the oldest rescue mission in the nation providing spiritual hope, food, clothing, and shelter to the destitute. The Mission accepts donations of bedding and linens, clothing, food, beds, toys, and furniture, etc. Donations may be dropped off 24/hours a day at the Mission. Reading Encouragement Project (PREP): PREP solicits new and gently used books, educational materials, audio and videotapes for donation to libraries in New York State. Baby and Children’s Items:
Baby Buggy accepts in-kind donations of new or gently used baby clothes, gear or products. Donations are distributed to nonprofit community partners serving low-income and homeless families and distributing these goods to their babies and infants. Children’s Hope Foundation is a volunteer driven organization that improves the quality of life for children, youth and their families affected by HIV and AIDS by meeting their medical and social needs. The Family Justice Center (FJC) serves as an information clearinghouse for victims of domestic violence. Located in Brooklyn, FJC provides a safe environment for victims to receive services, such as counseling, advocacy, legal and housing help.
